The radical Left is wasting no time using the legacy of the dead to push their gun control agenda.

While you and I pray for the peace and comfort of those directly impacted by this tragedy, politicians and media zealots are using this to grandstand for gun control.

In fact, Senator Bill Nelson was on CNN calling for universal gun registration before we had any definite information on the situation.

With all these calls for gun control, it’s amazing how many people refuse to acknowledge that gun control made this attack possible.

In Florida, it is illegal to have a gun on school property.

Said differently, in Florida,it is illegal to defend yourself with a firearm while on school property.

Instead of teachers and faculty being prepared to defend themselves against the attacks of a ruthless killer with the best tools possible, they were forced to defend the students with their lives.

Why do we continue prohibiting law-abiding gun owners from protecting our children — our future?

Let me be clear. Guns are not the problem.

The problem is the failed gun control policies that we have been dealing with for years!

Unfortunately, it is not just the radical Left calling for more gun control.

Even Governor Rick Scott is calling for “mental health” restrictions.

But studies have shown that a small minority of violent crimes are committed by individuals with mental illnesses and that those individuals are FAR more likely to be the victims.^{1 2}

Perhaps the most harmful aspect of “mental health” gun control is the fact that it would keep many people from seeking the help that they desperately need out of fear of losing their rights.³

Stripping law-abiding citizens of their right to keep and bear arms without due process is outright unconstitutional and often has a costly outcome.

That is why we must continue to block every attempt at gun control over the next few weeks, or even months.

Every law-abiding American deserves the right to defend themselves from attackers and nut-jobs like this.

As Second Amendment activists we MUST be vigilant in these times — not just in the defense of our loved ones, but in defense of our right to keep and bear arms.

Gun grabbers seize upon every outrage and crime, so we must always be prepared to protect our Second Amendment rights.

As we’ve seen time and time again, the gun control crowd will work every angle of a major tragedy to restrict our God-given rights.

Please do two things today: pray for the families of the victims and for the victims who are recovering, and then prepare for yet another gun control blitz.

Your continued engagement and activism could be the only thing that stands between our gun rights and coming gun control schemes.

P.S. Democrat Senator Bill Nelson and even Governor Rick Scott are already making calls for gun control, saying that gun owners are the ones responsible.

Even though all the evidence points toward it being yet ANOTHER act of evil committed by a deranged madman, they are relentless.

And that’s why we must fight back, and make it clear to the anti-gunners in Washington that we will not give in to their anti-gun demands.
