Betrayed by self-described “pro-gun” Republicans in the Florida Senate.
Betrayed by the same in the Florida House.
And now betrayed by Governor Rick Scott, better known as Governor Gun Control these days.

I can’t believe I’m reading that headline today.
But sadly, earlier today, Governor Scott signed Senate Bill 7026 into law.
What does this bill mean for Florida’s gun owners?
- Disarming adults under the age of 21, leaving them defenseless.
- Imposing mandatory government waiting periods on ALL firearms purchases.
- Banning certain firearm accessories.
- Implementing a “mental health” gun ban which could strip up to 3.5 million law-abiding Floridians of their rights WITHOUT due process.
- Gun Confiscation Orders without due process.
Governor Scott and the “pro-gun” Republicans in the Legislature are punishing YOU and other law-abiding Floridians for the actions of a criminal.
Even supposedly pro-gun Representative Manny Diaz, who sent in his FLGR Survey 100% pro-gun, voted for SB 7026, violating at least 4 promises to gun owners in his district.
I know how upsetting this betrayal must be.
I’m angry, too.
And we know legislative leadership used dirty political tricks to maneuver this bill through the Legislature.
Republican Party insiders report that Governor Scott, who is term-limited, is planning on running for the U.S. Senate and was willing to betray his constituents to appear “reasonable” on gun control.
Governor Scott and the weak-kneed Republicans in Tallahassee know perfectly well that the anti-gun Left will NEVER be satisfied!
Rabid anti-gunner Senator Lauren Book has already vowed to keep pushing for more gun control.
She said, “The work does not stop here. It is only the beginning.”
The anti-gunners will only stop when their end goal is achieved — an outright ban and confiscation.
And unfortunately, the institutional gun lobby, which hands out “A” ratings to just about anyone with an “R” behind their name, regardless of their voting record, will likely try to cover for turncoat Republicans.
So what do we do now?
We prepare for the next fight.
We can be nearly certain that after the passage of HB 7026, even more gun control will rear its ugly head in Florida.
And we prepare to hold accountable EVERY politician who turned their backs on law-abiding gun owners to satisfy the anti-gun media or to advance their own political career!
The gun control fight in Florida is a long way from being over.
